I got an awesome email in my inbox this morning with a huge batch of photos of some of my shirt designs. I’ve been trying to get some one locally to model for me for some time now and I’ve been coming up short. The plea that I sent out last week got some volunteers to help out.
There are now 5 shirts up on Etsy, two variation of my Bulldog Tee, my Imperial Crest Tee, a Hot Diggity Dog reprint, and my “Wormy” Tee. Check them all out here.
I just posted a new shirt on Spreadshirt, Ghosts. It’s made with a set of doodles of ghosts that I made with a brush pen and then ran though my Insane Sqiggle Machine. I’m probably going to do a few more of these with different sets of sprites and see what happens.
Here’s a detail of the image.
Hey all, I have a few new t-shirt designs that I need modeled by someone other than myself. Anyone interested? You’ll get a free random shirt in your size in exchange for some photos of you posing with that shirt on. Let me know if your interested. Thanks!
Last night I finally got scans of my newest three prints, Enjoy!.

Bury those Bones
12×18”
3 color serigraph
2009
I wanted to create a print that could end out the summer and work for a Halloween print as well. This another print exploring “one thing in another”. There’s a cross cut of a landscape, but it’s also a super creepy skull.

Flock
17.5×12”
5 color serigraph
2009
This print took on a test print like nature as I created it. At first I was playing with drawing fluid to get painterly marks, and then i just started adding from there. I like where this print ended up, somewhere between too much ans too little, just right.

Cars Cars Cars
12×18”
2 color serigraph
2009
This is my print for the 2009 Toys in the Attic Show in Minneapolis. The theme was to make a print of a toy that I remembered from childhood.
I could play with Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars all day long when I was a kid, and now our son has amassed a collection of metal hot rods. I took some photos of my son’s cars for elements in this print.
This morning I woke up to it being 32 degrees outside, which means that it’s time to start putting the printing equipment away until the spring. Printing in the garage has it’s pros and cons, but only getting about 6 months out of the year to screen print is kinda sucks.
I was inspired by the work of Joshua Davis and his random image generators. Although his were made in flash primary (I think), I set out to do something similar with php. So after about a day of messing around with script that would place images randomly in a browser I came up with this:
http://www.natenolting.com/random_image/

What is does it grab images from a directory and places them randomly, utilizing the z-index function in CSS and the GD library in PHP to rotate the images. There’s a random amount, random z-index, random size (% of total), and random rotation. The images are 24 bit PNG files with alpha channels, so the images behind them will show through, similar to how I draw the them by hand.
I’ll do something with this, I’m just not sure what. Enjoy.
