Here’s a new print I finished up yesterday, Tapes and Tapes. It’s a combination of a few elements from gigposters I worked on several years ago and a hand cut stencil. The background was made by cutting circles out of card stock and laying them on my light box between the bulbs and the screen, making a stencil that I over printed, once with blue, then tuned the print 180 degrees and printed the orange.

It’s also going to be included in a t-shirt run that I’m getting going this week, two reprints and two new ones.
Well, kind of indirectly, but still awesome!

Christopher Straub from Season 6 of Project Runway caught wearing one of my t-shirt designs, the crowned bulldog. Looks like maybe I should reprint that one. You can get one here.
It took me a while to get a screen grab of this episode, but I’m pretty stoked to see it!

New Art Prints

Winter Birds
12×18" inches
2 color serigraph
This was technically designed in 2006 and got lost in the mess which is my filing system. I was looking through some old files and saw this one remembered it never got on paper. It was for a poster for Devotchka that never got printed.

Falls Cafe
12×12" inches
2 color serigraph
One of the towns that my wife interviewed in when trying to find an attorney position was Redwood Falls, MN, a little town about an hour south of the Twin Cities While she was interviewing I walked around the town with my camera and took some pictures of the buildings. I thought it was interesting how jam packed the building tops were with electrical wiring.
Falls Cafe was one of the photos that stood out to me when I was going through some digital photos from that period. I remember thinking “What are we going to do if we move to here? They don’t even have high speed internet down here!”. While I wanted my wife to find a job out of law school, i didn’t think this was the place to be, and hoped that plan would get “rained out”.

I combined several illustrations of mine that I’d made but didn’t have a use for yet to create this print with some found images. The girl and the humming bird combine in the middle to create some sort of winged creature.
