Red River Valley Electric Coop redesign

I recently launched a new redesign for the Red River Electric Coop web site. The last design had been created some time ago; there were meta tags in the HTML from MS Front Page if that give any indication. The newest feature to the site, besides the total design overhaul, is the integration of the site into a content management system so that the site owners can update about 90% of the content with out any assistance from me.

The Old Site

The old design utilized a 100% fluid layout, very few included files for easy editing, and all HTML pages were original generated in Front Page.

The New Site

The new, current design lends little from the old design other than wording. The is a two tiered navigation that is build with the help of All Web Menus, a design that is built to fit on monitor sizes down to 800 px wide ( a standard I try to adhere to), and dynamic content coming from a database driven CMS. The layout is to be clean with an emphasis on green energy.

The site owners are very happy with the results This project has spanned from August 09 until current.

Headwaters Builders Association Logo Directions

HWBA Logo Directions

I’m working on the identity and website for the Headwaters Builders Association in Bemidji, MN. I have yet to hear if these will fly, but I hear they are gravitating towards the bottom left one.

Crowne Hills Publishers logo

I’m working with Crowne Hills Publishers on their identity and website at my day job. They needed a logo that could be used for their published books on online. We settled on a direction that reflects some classic printer elements, drawing much of it from scans of type from a Sears & Roebuck catalog from 1910.

Active Living Bemidji Site

I just finished up a new site, working with the Headwaters Regional Development Commission and the Parks & Recreation department in Bemidji.

Activelivingbemidji.com is a one stop shop for all things active in bemidji. Slated as three sites in one, there are style changes for the different sections while using a uniform overall grid.

I created new logo and a set of icons for the Fit City Bemidji section of the site that represent various fitness activities.

The Parks & Recreation portion of the site I created a new mark for them.

The back end system that runs the content allows for listed items to cross into other sections of the site. The site is also utilizing Google Maps and Google Calendar for events listings.
